IB Australia is committed to respecting and supporting internationally recognised human rights across our operations and business relationships. We recognise our responsibility to avoid causing, contributing to, or being directly linked to adverse human rights impacts.

This policy applies to:

2. International Standards We Respect

Our approach is guided by:

  • Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)

  • International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

  • Core Labour Standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO)

  • UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP)

  • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

3. Labour & Workplace Rights

We are committed to:

  • Prohibiting child labour, forced labour, modern slavery, and human trafficking

  • Providing a safe and healthy workplace

  • Respecting freedom of association and collective bargaining

  • Preventing discrimination, harassment, and unfair treatment

  • Paying at least the applicable legal minimum wage and working toward fair remuneration

  • Complying with working hour, rest, and leave laws

4. Supply Chain & Business Relationships

We expect our suppliers and partners to:

  • Comply with all applicable labour and human rights laws

  • Prohibit child labour and forced labour

  • Provide safe working conditions

  • Respect freedom of movement and retain no worker documents

  • Prevent discrimination and harassment

We prioritise engagement and improvement over disengagement, where possible.

5. Risk Assessment & Due Diligence

doormats.com.au conducts proportionate human rights risk assessments considering:

  • Direct impacts of our operations

  • Indirect impacts through suppliers and service providers

  • Country, sector, and product-specific risks

Risk assessments are reviewed:

  • Periodically

  • When introducing new suppliers or products

  • When material risk factors change

6. Environmental & Community Considerations

We seek to prevent environmental harm that may negatively impact human health, including:

  • Pollution

  • Unsafe waste handling

  • Excessive resource use

7. Grievance Mechanism

We provide a grievance mechanism that allows:

  • Employees

  • Supply chain workers

  • Business partners

  • Other affected parties

to confidentially raise concerns without fear of retaliation. Complaints are reviewed promptly and fairly.

8. Governance & Responsibility

Oversight of human rights commitments sits with senior management, supported by operational staff responsible for supplier engagement and compliance.

9. Monitoring & Improvement

We monitor effectiveness through:
